In the meaningless update category...
So I've managed a cup of decaf a day since my late November post. I've not felt a letdown in energy, focus or drive and my anxiety level has gone down considerably. Stink! Not drinking caffeine is having good effects which will make it that much harder for me to go back to it after the fast this month.
I'm looking for a loophole--who knows, maybe a news story will come out in the next several weeks explaining why caffeine is highly effective at preventing several forms of cancer. That would be compelling enough to get me drinking the stuff again.
Not to enable you in your addiction, BUT...moderate amounts of caffeine have been shown to fight depression (and cause it). It's also supposed to increase metabolism and be good an hour or two before a workout, unless you have cardiac issues or are otherwise not hydrating enough. Coffee in general is full of antioxidants, as you know, but you could get that with decaf. too. Then there's your blog name to consider. Is caffeine part of your identity? So there's a definitely indefinite answer for you.

Nate, that reminds me of the famous Homer Simpson quote (substitute alcohol with caffeine):
"To alcohol: the cause of and solution to all of life's problems." Thanks for the indefinite advice;-)
