Tonight was the Hamlin Park Orioles last "regular season" game. A loss. A lonnnnggg game. I have mixed emotions. There are aspects of coaching kids that I enjoy--bringing a pitcher through a tough inning to come back with a strike out, seeing a little adjustment at the plate yield a hit, watching the excitement in the kids eyes when they win.
And then there's the parts I don't like--Tyce's indifference to my favorite sport, constantly reminding the kids in the field that there is a baseball game going on, loonnnnnnnngggggg games.
So I suppose we'll enjoy the playoff game at Thielens Field next week. It may be my coaching swan song depending on what Tyce wants to do next year. No regrets. Its always the right decision to be involved in my kids' activities.
