I had a cool God appointment this evening. I almost literally ran into Josh Taylor, church planting pastor of CitiChurch in Wicker Park and also new lead pastor of Wrigleyville Church.
Josh and I met late last year when our daughters were in gymnastics together. At the time he and his wife had just moved here from Las Vegas and CitiChurch was still in the phase of gathering a core. Since that time Josh was invited to become the lead pastor at Wrigleyville and he and Aiyana spearheaded the grand opening of CitiChurch which debuted on October 28. You could say the Taylors have been pretty busy lately.
Josh is now in the cool predicament of navigating two churches toward a multi-site model of ministry. Here's the funny part--Josh had just had a friend recommend that he talk to New Life about multi-site a few days ago. So tonight, on he and his wife's first visit to ARCC ballet studio where Jaley dances, Josh and I cross paths again. (And normally, I don't even do the pick up.)
I'm beginning to wonder about this ballet pick up gig. This is the second God appointment I've had there in 2 months. And the last one was pretty wild. I hope to tell that story one of these days. I'm wondering if someone's praying over that place.
In any event, looking forward to connecting Josh with some of our pastoral team in the near future and sharing what we've learned on our multi-site journey.
