I'm really excited about our Ignite Summit this coming Saturday, hosted by our Midway location. Last year was incredible and this year we've raised the bar. It may snow outside on Saturday but it will be a environment of spiritual heat inside New Life Midway.
You should come be a part of Ignite if any of the following statements apply to you:
- have a pulse
- love Jesus (even a little bit)
- serve in ministry somewhere at New Life
- need a spiritual recharge
- like to see large men break bricks
- get excited about worship
- want free snacks
- like the movies/tv show Mission Impossible
- want to see a bunch of goofy pastors dressed like a SWAT team
- enjoy the scenic southwest side of Chicago
- don't want to feel like a dork on Sunday, February 10
- want tools and training to be a more effective servant of God
- like free coffee
- need a chance to catch up with old friends from other New Life locations
- get excited about glow sticks
- need to relieve stress by squeezing a hand grenade
- want a reason to get up a little earlier this Saturday
- believe that this city needs Jesus!
If you've managed to escape this list unscathed, you probably need immediate medical attention. If you didn't, register right now at www.newlifechicago.org/ignite2008!
See you Saturday!
Hm, guilt and fear of ridicule aren't very good motivators.
Not everyone is able to lead a small group, nomatter how hard they force themselves into that role.

I was definitely going for the tongue-in-cheek angle with my "reasons to attend Ignite." Not sure how "guilt and fear of ridicule" was taken from the post. I was seeking, perhaps unsuccessfully, to be funny in my appeal to encourage attendance at Ignite.
