Needed to let off some steam last night so I went out back and shoveled the hardened snow on the path to the garbage cans in the backyard. It was a good workout (stop laughing) and afterward, I grabbed one of our giant plastic lawn chairs and sat down in it. (All that was missing was the Countrytime lemonade.)
Honestly, I think that is the quietest I have ever heard the city. It was about 10:30 and cold. Very little car noise, no dogs barking, no people walking, nothing much moving around. In the quiet, I felt refreshed. Felt like God said to me, "Kevin, you need to pay more attention to the little things. Get rid of some of the blur in your life."
It was a holy moment. Lasted for about 30 minutes until my legs started to get a bit cold. Glad for the unintended God-appointment.
